About the Play
The location is the sickroom at the Sanatorium at Vračar. The timeframe of this monodrama is the night between the 19th and 20th of January of 2021, from around 11 PM until 5:30 AM. The terminally ill duke Mišić is flipping through his memories, events, historical figures, but also ordinary people that he met during important moments of his life. The duke’s memories are, of course, subjective, but as he had a firm attitude towards time, people, and events, his memories reflect the time, people, and events, in a completely new way. Believing he did everything in his power, at 5:30 AM on St John the Baptist’s Day (Jovandan), the 20th of January 2021, he will leave this world forever.
